Love god

Transforming into His character

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying
its power. And from such people, turn away! ...men of corrupt
minds, disapproved concerning the faith.

2 Timothy 3: 2–5, 8 (NKJV)

This week

This week we consider five characteristics that the Holy
Spirit can develop in Kingdom citizens as He teaches you
to love God through holiness, true godliness, reverence
for Him, and acknowledging His power in and through
you.

  • LOVERS OF GOD

Not lovers of pleasure but focused on what
pleases God.

  • HOLINESS

Recognizing our unholiness and choosing to be
changed.

  • TRUE GODLINESS

Not having a false sense of godliness but pursuing true godliness.

  • REVERENCE

Not blasphemers but intentionally being reverent to God in every way.

  • ACKNOWLEDGE HIS POWER

Not denying His power in our lives and on earth as coincidence.

REVERENCE

Fireworks light up the night's sky in
celebration of our nation's birthday. A patriot instinctively stands at attention, loudly sings our anthem, and is well-versed in the rules to observe in respect for all our nation's symbols of freedom. We respond to the mishandling of our national flag with heightened emotions, swift legal action, and social outrage. How much more should we uphold respect for the King of the universe and all He represents to humanity? It is
undeniable that both our words and deeds reflect our hearts and minds, and they bear witness to others about our spiritual and mental allegiance. Reverence to God changes our instinctive responses and celebrates our honor of Him.

Hebrews 12:28 AMP

Therefore,
since we receive a kingdom
which cannot be shaken, let us
show gratitude, and offer to
God pleasing service and
acceptable worship with
reverence and awe

Proverbs 9:10 AMP

The
reverent and worshipful fear
of the Lord is the beginning
(the chief and choice part) of
Wisdom, and the knowledge
of the Holy One is insight and
understanding.

James 3:10 NLT

And so
blessing and cursing
come pouring out of the
same mouth. Surely, my
brothers and sisters, this
is not right!

PRAY

Heavenly Father, I am in awe of you. Forgive me for allowing my
speech and deeds to blaspheme your holiness and omnipotence. Cleanse my mind and tongue, and allow your Holy Spirit to keep me
reverent to You and Your holy name every day until I naturally live
and speak with the utmost respect for who You are. I thank You for
Your love, forgiveness, and hope of growing closer and closer to you and loving you more and more each day. In Jesus name, Amen.

DO

  1. Practice reverence for God, His place of worship, at your home, in your car, at your workplace—everywhere you are.

  2. Seek accountability for your words to create a habit of respecting our King. Start a word challenge. Have someone close to you keep track of your choice of words for 7 days and take your daily results in prayer to God about your progress.

HOLINESS

Beyond the well-known fashion brands found in retail stores, there is a small group of exclusive luxury designers who serve the elite. These custom-made pieces are not duplicated or made available for public sale. The Old
Testament priests set aside and cleansed the holy vessels made of precious metals, for exclusive use in God's honor. Likewise, we are
considered vessels of honor for God's use here on earth. By choosing to be holy, we can daily cleanse our body, heart, and soul, setting them apart for exclusive use in obedience to His will.

2 Corinthians 7:1 NLT

Because we have
these promises,
dear friends, let us
cleanse ourselves
from everything that
can defile our body
or spirit. And let us
work toward
complete holiness
because we fear God.

Ephesians 4:23-24 NLT

23 Instead, let the
Spirit renew your
thoughts and
attitudes. 24 Put on
your new nature,
created to be like
God—truly
righteous and holy.

Romans 6:22 NLV

But
now you are free from
the power of sin. You
have become a
servant for God. Your
life is set apart for
God-like living. The
end is life that lasts
forever

1 Peter 1:15-16 NLT

15 But now you must
be holy in everything
you do, just as God,
who chose you, is
holy. 16 For the
Scriptures say, “You
must be holy
because I am holy.

PRAY

Heavenly Father, thank you for choosing and loving me. Forgive me and daily cleanse my heart and mind so that I will live holy and acceptable to You. Thank you, Father, that I don't have to do this on my own but that your Holy Spirit dwells in me. Help me to recognize your daily teaching to live exclusively in my speech, my thoughts, and my deeds for your purposes in my life. I am excited about this journey together with you as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.

DO

Prepare your vessel of honor by creating a habit of cleansing our physical, spiritual, and mental lives.

  1. Meditate on the words of this song as a prayer to the Lord.

  2. Daily, express in prayer any sinsthat you are sorry for. This is called repentance, which cleanses our soul from the guilt and shame of sin.

  3. Inquire at your local church aboutwater baptism, which is anotherbiblical symbol of cleansing.

  4. Consider cleaning up and clearing out anything from your physical space that brings clutter.

GODLINESS

During the pandemic, wearing face masks was primarily for protection and, at the very least, fashionable. But can you imagine living your entire life behind a mask? Every waking moment, covering up your warm smile or your true self. Unfortunately, spiritual masks can become unknowingly comfortable, accustomed to acting and saying the right words while masking a vacant relationship with Jesus Christ. God already knows and loves every true detail of our lives and simply requires our lives to be authentic. No masks, no facades. In an intimate relationship with God, there is no need to impress or feel judged; we find freedom in exposing our minds and hearts to true godliness. There are absolutely no secrets from Him, so lean into genuine quality time and pursue interest in what pleases only Him.

love god

Do you remember being young and in love and stealing a quick glance from across the room? Hearts flutter, breathing slows, eyes lock, and smiles broaden. Young love can consume your every thought and change your behavior and attitude, causing you to do and say things you don’t usually do. Just imagine that moment as a flicker of how much God loves you. It will take a lifetime, as well as the constant help of the Holy Spirit, to fully respond in love to the God of love.

Our response to this divine love requires faith, trust, and surrender. It's a beacon of hope in times of despair, a source of strength during trials, and a guiding light in the journey of life. Loving God is not limited by rituals or doctrines, but dwells deep within our hearts and souls, fostering compassion, kindness, and empathy towards His creation. It's a love that inspires humility and gratitude, recognizing the boundless mercy and grace He provides without measure every day. Through regular conversation and a desire to know Him more, we can nurture our love for God, seeking to align our will with His divine purpose. This love is sure to transform our very being and shape our character, keeping us in a lifelong
intimate relationship.

His Power

One of the most captivating aspects of bumper stickers is their ability to reflect the unique and undeniable personalities and beliefs of their owners. From popular symbols to humorous one-liners or thought-provoking quotes and slogans, these serve as little colorful billboards for our vehicles. Whether you display them for humor, honor, or to make a statement, bumper stickers continue to be a cherished form of self-expression in our modern world. We are each God's expression of His personality for the world to recognize His creativity, power, and grace. When we ignore His daily blessings and miracles or deny the evidence of His power, we offend God. From the early morning spring rain to the miracle of childbirth, or the undiscovered galaxies to the divinely crafted human body, God's power is undeniable and worthy of broadcasting through every form of expression.
